Data backup solutions Clay Cross

Your company relies on the data stored on your computers and servers in order to trade. What would happen if you arrived at work one day and discovered all your data had been lost? Could you continue to run your business? The answer is probably either that your business would have to close, or at least, that continuing to run it would be very difficult.

There are a number of ways your data can be lost, and they all happen without warning.

  • Data is stored on a hard drive or solid state drive. These are usually very reliable, but they are not perfect and can sometimes fail.
  • Building fires are thankfully a rare occurrence, but when they do happen, they destroy everything, including all your precious company data. Having to find new premises to trade from is a big enough headache, but if your data isn't securely backed up and safe, you probably won't have the information you need to continue your business.
  • Your data can be lost or, frustratingly, be rendered inaccessible by malware and viruses. While you will of course be taking precautions against viruses, there is still the possibility of one getting through and damaging your data.

You can protect against any and all these threats, and others we haven't mentioned, by taking a copy, or backup, of your data and keeping it off site. Ideally, a backup should be taken overnight and then taken off site the next day. This is easy to do and will mean you have all your data up to the end of the previous day.
