Data backup solutions Sandiacre
Your company relies on the data stored on your computers and servers in order to trade. What would happen if you arrived at work one day and discovered all your data had been lost? Would your business still be able to function? The answer is probably either that your business would have to close, or at least, that continuing to run it would be very difficult.
You can lose your business data in a number of ways, and all of them can happen completely unexpectedly.
- Data is stored on a hard drive or solid state drive. These are usually very reliable, but they are not perfect and can sometimes fail.
- Building fires are thankfully a rare occurrence, but when they do happen, they destroy everything, including all your precious company data. Having to find new premises to trade from is a big enough headache, but if your data isn't securely backed up and safe, you probably won't have the information you need to continue your business.
- Viruses and malware can be another source of data loss. If, despite all your efforts to protect yourself against malware, some malware does get into your network, you could either lose your data or lose access to it.
The solution to all these and other threats to your data is to make regular backups and keep the backups off site. Ideally, a backup should be taken every night and taken off site the following day. At worst, if this is done, you will only lose one day's data in the event of a loss of data.
