Internet connectivity Hereford
For businesses of today, connectivity is critical
As an increasing amount of our daily application use and communication methods move online, companies cannot afford to compromise on their internet connectivity solution.
SEP Business Services offer a range of business-grade internet connection types. We will help you to understand what options are available depending on your individual requirements and geographical location.
With access to all the major business broadband and connectivity providers in the UK, we can offer you a wide range of competitively-priced product and service options tailored to meet your company's specific needs.
Leased Lines
If connectivity is integral to your business, a Leased Line is likely to be the best option. Leased Lines are an uncontended service dedicated to your business only, and offer unparalleled speed and reliability.
All Leased Lines from SEP Business Services are backed by an enterprise-level service agreement. This guarantees your connection speed and ensures that any faults are resolved within predictable timescales.
Leased Lines can be delivered over copper or fibre and are available at speeds from 10Mb/s to 10Gb/s, depending on your geographical location, and, unlike most other kinds of internet connection, are symmetrical, meaning the downstream and upstream speeds are the same.
Government funding is available to help pay for most or all of the installation cost, subject to approval. We can help you with the application process.
Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC)/Fibre to the Premises (FTTP)
Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC) uses a fibre optic cable in place of copper to connect your local street cabinet back to the telephone exchange. This allows increased download speeds when compared to ADSL. The last leg (between cabinet and customer premises) is still copper and internet access is delivered over VDSL (very high speed DSL).
FTTC offers a maximum downstream speed of 80Mb/s, but actual speed depends on distance from the street cabinet. Typical downstream speed is around 40-60Mb/s.
Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) builds on FTTC by also replacing the copper line from the street cabinet to your building with fibre optic cable. This increases performance and is more suitable for businesses with multiple users or higher bandwidth applications.
FTTP offers downstream speeds of up to 330Mb/s.
FTTP and FTTC are contended services, which means that speeds might be reduced during peak periods. Companies that require a guaranteed connection speed should consider our Leased Lines product.
ADSL
ADSL (Asymmetrical Digital Subscriber Line) is the original fast broadband service that replaced dial-up internet access. It uses a traditional copper analogue phone line to provide internet access. For small businesses that don't have a heavy reliance on high-speed internet access, or where FTTC is not yet available in your area, ADSL could be a good option.
ADSL offers a maximum downstream speed of 20Mb/s, but actual speed depends on distance from the telephone exchange. Typical downstream speed is around 8-12Mb/s.
ADSL is a contended service, which means that speeds might be reduced during peak periods. Companies that require the peace of mind that comes with a guaranteed connection speed should consider our Leased Lines product.
Wireless Broadband
Wireless Broadband is the perfect solution for businesses struggling with slow connection speeds. It uses fixed point-to-point airborne communications to send wireless signals.
Wireless Broadband is ideal for businesses in rural areas, and offers fast and reliable connection speeds at an affordable price.
