What is VoIP?

VoIP (Voice over IP) is a technology whereby telephone calls are routed over the internet instead of traditional telephone lines. If you have ever used Skype to make telephone calls from your PC, you've used VoIP.

What is Hosted VoIP?

Hosted VoIP is a virtual telephone system that uses VoIP. It gives you all the features and functionality of a traditional phone system. The hardware is located in a data centre (hence 'hosted'), thus freeing you from the cost and space requirements of having your own phone system.

Calls between your phones are always free, wherever they are in the world.

Is Hosted VoIP for me and my business?

Hosted VoIP is ideal for businesses of any size. Many small businesses in particular find it to be a straightforward and cost-effective solution.

The only requirement is a decent internet connection, which we can also provide if needed.

Features available on our Hosted VoIP service

There are a range of features on our Hosted VoIP service and you are free to choose the ones that are best for you, only paying for what you need.

The basic service gives you one phone and a local telephone number from the area of your choice.

You can add additional numbers from other areas if you want to advertise a local number in each area you do business. You can also have a freephone number or other virtual telephone number.

If you already have a landline with a telephone number you want to keep, we can move that to our Hosted VoIP service.

What about Hosted VoIP for residential use?

Hosted VoIP is a great way to get a second line without having a second line installed, or perhaps you spend a lot of time out of the country, maybe at your holiday villa or working. Take your Hosted VoIP phone with you and your friends and family can call you at UK rates rather than international rates or sky-high international mobile phone rates. You can also phone the UK as if you were still in the UK and pay only UK call charges.

Multiple numbers

A one-man business needs a local telephone number in several different cities for marketing purposes and needs to be able to take office calls on her mobile phone while she is out of the office.

Having multiple numbers allows the business to advertise a local number in each city. All the calls ring the Hosted VoIP phone when in the office. When out of the office, the calls go to a mobile phone and out of hours, they go to voice mail.

Working from home

Three people all working together in the same business, but each works from home. They want to appear to be working together in the same office and have the features of an office telephone system.
