System not working

Symptoms

It is not possible to make or receive either internal or external telephone calls and the display of all Samsung system phones looks similar to the following.

Cause

  • The power has only just been turned on and the system is still starting up.
  • The system firmware has become corrupted.

Repair

If the power has only just been turned on, it is normal for the system to show these symptoms for up to 5 minutes. Wait until at least 5 minutes have elapsed since the power was turned on and the problem should go away. If the system still does not work after 5 minutes, turn the power off, wait 30 seconds and turn it back on. If it is still not working after 5 minutes, contact us for help.

If the system firmware has become corrupted, turning the power off and back on will not help. The system will not start. We can usually fix this by restoring the system firmware, which requires a site visit.
