Speed dial entry numbers (MMC 705)

  1. Press Speaker (or Transfer if not already in config mode).
  2. Enter 705.
  3. The following will be shown on the display.

    SYS SPEED DIAL
    500:9-0xxxxxxxxxx

500 is the entry number. 9 is the number to dial for an outside line. 0xxxxxxxxxx is the phone number. The cursor should be under the 5 of 500.

  4. Enter the entry number you want to change, or use Volume up/Volume down to scroll through the list and press the right soft button to move the cursor to the number field (it will appear under the 9).
  5. To enter a new number, enter 9 (for outside line) followed by the phone number. To remove the number, press Hold.
  6. Press the right soft button to save (it will beep twice).
  7. Repeat from step 4 to change additional entries.

Speed dial entry names (MMC 706)

  1. Press Speaker (or Transfer if not already in config mode).
  2. Enter 706.
  3. The following will be shown on the display.

    SYS SPEED NAME
    500:Name

500 is the entry number. The cursor should be under the 5 of 500.

  4. Enter the entry number you want to change, or use Volume up/Volume down to scroll through the list and press the right soft button to move the cursor to the name field (it will appear under the first letter).
  5. Use the keypad to enter a new name. For example, press 2 3 times to get the letter C. Use Volume up/Volume down to move the cursor within the field. There is no timeout, so if the next letter is on the same key, you will need to press Volume up to move the cursor before entering the next letter. To remove the name, press Hold.
  6. Press the right soft button to save (it will beep twice).
  7. Repeat from step 4 to change additional entries.

CLIP translation table (MMC 728)

Please note that speed dial entries are not used for incoming calls. If you want the name to be presented for an incoming call, you will also need to enter the name and number in the CLIP translation table. This will only work if CLIP (caller id) is enabled on your telephone lines.

Please note that the entries in the CLIP translation table are automatically sorted by phone number, so do not rely on the entry numbers remaining the same.

If someone has changed their number, it is best to edit the entry in this table rather than adding a new entry. This also means you won't have to enter the name again.

  1. Press Speaker (or Transfer if not already in config mode).
  2. Enter 728.
  3. The following will be shown on the display.

    CLIP XLAT (0001)
    DGT:0xxxxxxxxxx

0001 is the entry number. The cursor should be under the first 0 of 0001.

  4. Enter the entry number you want to change, or use Volume up/Volume down to scroll through the list and press the right soft button to move the cursor to the number field.
  5. Enter the caller's number in full. Do not enter 9 (for outside line). To remove the number, press Hold. If you do not want to change the number, just skip to the next step.
  6. Press the right soft button to save and move the cursor to the name field. If no number has been entered, the cursor will return to the entry number field, so return to step 4.
  8. Press the right soft button to save (it will beep twice).
  9. Repeat from step 4 to change additional entries.
