Telephone network service codes

Star service and other codes used to access additional network services on a telephone line. Some of these services work on any line; some services have to be ordered as they are not generally included in standard line rental charges.

Star Service codes

These codes work on analogue lines only; they do not work on ISDN lines or SIP trunks.

Codes for other services

1471 Announces the telephone number of the last incoming call received1,2,3
141 <number> 141 dialled as a prefix to a telephone number withholds the calling party's number from the called party
1470 <number> 1470 dialled as a prefix to a telephone number presents the calling party's number to the called party when calling from a line where the number is withheld by default
17070 Announces the telephone number associated with the line (BT lines only)
174 Announces the telephone number associated with the line (Virgin Media lines only)
  1. Does not work on multiline (2 or more analogue lines that share the same number).
  2. Does not work on ISDN lines.
  3. Does not work on SIP trunks.
